Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Director of Nursing Services at Holly Center, a residential facility for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all nursing services, including the assessment, planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of all habilitation services provided. This position is also responsible for determining the need for the development of new or improved nursing and habilitation services and the overall delivery of quality habilitative services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in nursing related field from an accredited college or university and five years of experience as a Registered Nurse, of which at least three years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity.

A bachelor's degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university, together with seven years of experience as a registered nurse of which at least five years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity is also qualifying.

A Ph.D. in nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of general experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.  A copy of your license or license number must accompany your application.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached.

2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.

For education obtained outside the U.S., any job offer will be contingent on the candidate providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment (and may be requested prior to interview).
