Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to record and reconcile cash receipts transactions and bank related activities in accordance with The State regulations and Department/Agency procedures. 

POSITION DUTIES

Batches daily cash receipts and record them in the Financial Management Information System (FMIS), and ensure proper recording of allocation of remittance. 

Process over-payment of initial balance due on invoice. 

Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting requirements. 

Identify, prepare and enter transaction to post R*STARS (Relational Standard Accounting and Reporting System) deposits to the appropriate funds. 

Prepare and input balance transaction batches for transfer to other state agencies.

Process all insufficient funds checks charge back transaction on a monthly basis.

Research and resolves differences between ITCD (Information Technology and Communication Division) and financial institution or state treasurer banking transaction data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.

Experience: None

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with thirty credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three credit hours auditing, for the required education.

2. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Experience with Microsoft Excel

Experience with using an automated finance system
