POSITION DUTIES

This is a professional position responsible for the supervision of staff in the Wheaton DORS office to ensure that a comprehensive service delivery system is provided to support the achievement of employment outcomes by individuals with disabilities.   

Plans, develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive service delivery system; provides supervision, direction, and training to staff and evaluates performance; manages budget and program activities;  reviews and approves services for clients in accordance with established policies; facilitates working relationships with agencies, businesses, and organizations; serves as a resource of information about employers and employment opportunities and initiates activities to foster community awareness and employment of individuals with disabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

A Master’s Degree and/or course work in Management, Supervision or Administration.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years of professional work experience in providing rehabilitation services.  Two years of which must have been as a Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Specialist at the full performance level within the designated option.  Two years of the required experience must have included specialized experience in providing rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, or employer relation services to clients with physical or mental disabilities; or teaching services to clients with partial or total visual impairment.
