This is a MANAGEMENT SERVICE position for a Program Manager I, Maryland State Police, Criminal Intelligence Section and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority

Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of the position is to direct and manage the supervision of subordinate analytical personnel; manage the collection, analysis, evaluation and dissemination of criminal intelligence information; provide case support for uniform criminal investigative activities; and coordinate the sharing of criminal intelligence information among the Maryland State Police and allied law enforcement agencies in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university.

Experience:  Four years of experience managing a law enforcement unit involved in intelligence gathering operations

NOTE:  Candidates may substitute additional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.  Seven years of criminal intelligence experience.

2.  Six years of managerial experience in law enforcement

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for this position will be subject to a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before appointment can be made.  A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be included for further evaluation.  The evaluation will include rating your application based upon education, and training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position.  It is essential, therefore, that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.  Qualified candidates will be placed on an eligible list which will be used by the hiring manager to select the individual to fill the vacancy.  The list will be valid for one year.
