Main Purpose of Job

This position will serve as the Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for the administrating, directing and monitoring of clinical services for adults with developmental disabilities residing at the Potomac Center and the Secure Evaluation & Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) Program. The incumbent supervises professional staff including psychologists, psychology associates, and clinical social workers in the provision of clinical services including risk assessment, therapeutic, and behavioral health services to each of the residents. This position is responsible for developing reports and following Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) protocols for submitting reports to the courts. This position is part of Management Team for the Potomac Center and SETT and monitors clinical compliance for state and federal regulations and licensure requirements. This position provides psychology services on the cottages, as needed, and provides staff training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a doctorate degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists and five years of experience rendering psychological services including three years post-doctorate clinical experience, and two years of supervisory experience. Qualified candidates must possess prior experience in the provision of psychological services to adults with developmental disabilities.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in establishing measures for accuracy of data collection, ability to analyze data, and redevelop program services as indicated. 
  • Experience in the provision of competency services.
  • Knowledge of state court systems and legal proceedings.
  • Experience in development and provision of training programs for staff on implementation of behavioral support plans and enhancement of staff/resident interactions.
  • Experience in leading a clinical team and collaboration with non-clinical staff/departments.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a current Maryland license to practice as a Psychologist from the Maryland Board of Psychologists or have the ability to obtain a Psychologist license prior to appointment.
