The Maryland Department of Health is seeking to fill positions within one of our main Covid-19 Testing sites.  We are seeking reliable candidates to serve as Testing Site Staff to perform duties of a Traffic Controller and/or Supply Staff.

Main Purpose of Job

Testing Site Staff will perform duties related to traffic control and/or supply administration and maintenance.  Candidates will direct traffic in and out of testing tents at the testing site.  This position will require standing outside for periods of time.  Candidates may also be required to assist with fulfillment of clinical supply requests, documenting inventory, and assisting with appropriate storage of test specimens.  A majority of the job functions will be related to traffic control.  Candidates should be able to stand outside and have reliable transportation.  PPE and water will be provided.  This is a part-time position with current hours of Wednesdays and Fridays from 6 AM - 11 AM (hours and days are subject to change).  This is not a clinical position, staff for this position will not be involved with the testing of visitors.  


Ability to stand outside in the elements for hours at a time.  Ability to use a computer.  Must be available immediately.  Candidates must also be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.


Leave may be granted to a temporary employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
