POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the Dietary Department. This position's duties include, but are not limited to:

receiving and storing all perishable and non-perishable foods ordered for dietetic services
assisting in physical inventories
ensuring that all storerooms, walk-in refrigerators and freezers are cleaned and kept locked at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Completion of the eighth grade.

Experience: Three years of experience involving the preparation and/or serving of food.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute additional experience in the preparation and/or serving of food on a year for year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Food Services Officers or Culinary Specialist classifications or Food Services Manager, Services Officer, Food Service Specialist or Service Specialist specialty codes in the Food Production or Service field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Some positions in this classification are assigned duties which will require the individual to be examined by a physician. After an offer of employment, applicants for such positions will be given a medical examination to certify the ability to perform the essential job functions.

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
