LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide plumbing repairs, maintenance of plumbing systems, pipes, fixtures, valves, heating coils, air conditioning, sewer, drainage system equipment for water, steam related equipment, and devices for hospitals and facilities.
Education: Completion of the Eighth grade.
Experience: Two years experience as a journeyman plumber, one year of which includes installing and repairing sanitary plumbing appliances.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in the plumbing field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
Basic Computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel (i.e., to access an electronic work order system and email)
Experience with the use of general plumbing tools and equipment
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Candidates for this classification must possess a Maryland Journeyman/Gas Fitter License.
