Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to perform supervisory responsibilities within the organizational structure of the Talbot County Addictions Program located within the Talbot County Health Department. This position will oversee certain staff, programs and services of the Talbot County Addictions Program while meeting the mission of the agency while receiving supervision from a higher-level program director or administrator. This position reviews needs of services recipients, promotes the work of the program by frequent contact with staff and other agencies and assists the department in normal operating procedures, monitoring and providing assistance to public and private agencies serving the SUD and co-occurring population of Talbot County. This position will supervise state care coordination activities in adherence with grant requirements including MDRN recovery housing and consumer support requests for Talbot County residents. This position will provide oversight for other employees and the coordination of services for productivity, documentation and compliance with regulations and standards to meet the needs of the agency and populations served based on qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of professional experience in health services, two (2) years of which must have been in the option for which application is made (Addictions).

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional work related to treatment and services for persons with alcohol or other substance abuse addiction.

3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:

1) Previous supervisory experience.

2) Knowledgeable of and/or experience with departmental policy, standard operating procedures and regulations, grant funded activity requirements, and/or the continuum of care to meet overarching program goals and service recipient needs.
