POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to conduct field audits, investigate, analyze and evaluate cases processed by Family Investment Case managers and reviewed by Family Investment Supervisors in order to: 1) Inform FIA leadership at the Local Departments of Social Services, FIA Central leadership, Maryland legislative leadership and Federal officials in the United States Department of Agriculture about the accuracy and timeliness of benefit processing; 2) Identify corrective action(s) needed to prevent future errors; and, 3) Ensure that the State is in compliance with Federal, State and Local policies and directives in the administration of all Family Investment programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education:   A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 credit hours per year for up to two years   of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.  

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience determining eligibility for Social Service programs.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

One years of experience utilizing system such as Client Automated Resource and Eligibility System (CARES), Child Support Enforcement System (CSES), Enterprise Content Management Solution (ECMS). 

One year experience and use of personal computer software such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, WebEx.

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a human service, public health, Social Services or closely related fields.
