Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to schedule and assist patients with telehealth appointments through Google Meet. This position will be responsible for greeting patients, taking vitals signs, reporting vitals signs to the provider, and after the appointment, rescheduling the patient in electronic scheduler. This position's other duties will include daily preparation of the providers medical notes for patients that are scheduled that day; filing notes once signed by provider and all other duties associated with the provider. This position will also pull and file records and paperwork for clinic staff, as needed. This position will assist with collecting UA's. This position could be assigned to assist in the OMHC Intensive Outpatient Programs with both adults and children/adolescents, and other supportive duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university including 15 credit hours in a human service program. The program must have included either a supervised practicum in providing counseling or other therapeutic services to the mentally ill or at least nine credit hours in psychology, including abnormal psychology.

Experience: None.

Notes: 

1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience providing counseling or other therapeutic services in a mental health setting under the supervision of a licensed professional staff member or a Master’s degree prepared mental health professional for the required practicum.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Mental or Behavioral Health Counseling classifications or Mental or Behavioral Health Nursing and Specialist specialty codes in the Counseling field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

SELECTION PROCESS

For education obtained outside the U.S., any job offer will be contingent on the candidate providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment (and may be requested prior to interview).

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
