POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this full time position will be to function as the MDH Inventory Coordinator. This position acts as liaison between the MDH Inventory Officer and Accountable Officers. This position coordinates annual sensitive inventories and complete physical inventory (every three years). This position will audit a minimum of 5% of the total signed off inventory and attempts to find missing items from that unit. This position will also update the inventory system, with equipment receiving forms, disposition forms and DGS disposal orders. This position will enter DGS disposal orders into GovDeals portal for items being sold. This position will function as the Inventory Control Officer when the Inventory Control Officer is away. This position will also function as the Facilities Coordinator where you will integrate facility inventories with the MDH Inventory in a shared services capacity. This position will monitor the facilities to ensure that they are completing their inventory functions correctly. In addition, this position will approve, enter into the Records Database, and send Records Transmittals to the Jessup Retention Center. This position will approve Certificate of Disposals and places the disposal into the archive’s portal. This position will also assist the MDH Mailroom Supervisor or Designee (as needed) with the mailroom operations. This position receives, sorts, delivers, and mails; inter-office, United States Postal Service and courier mail sent to/from MDH through 300, 301 and 201 West Preston 4201 Patterson Avenue and 6 St. Paul Street.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.  

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
