Work that matters. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is a national leader in community development and affordable housing. The Division of Neighborhood Revitalization seeks a positive individual experienced with financial management in the public sector who will verify, track, process, reconcile, analyze and report financial information for grant, loan and tax credit programs.

This position will work out of the Headquarters Office in Prince George's County located approximately ½ mile from the New Carrollton Metro stop. A hybrid in-person/virtual placement may be available.
POSITION DUTIES
The Division of Neighborhood Revitalization is seeking a Grants Manager that is highly organized, customer oriented, self-motivated team player with a professional demeanor and proficient with Microsoft Office Excel. The incumbent will manage, coordinate, and document financial details and provide fiscal analysis and reporting for the Division’s general, special and federal funded grant programs totaling approximately $77 million annually. Ability to work with automated data systems is required and will serve as back-up to the other Grants Managers in the Division.
Please note: this is a non-competitive position, as it is a short-term contract, expected to last 4-5 years, contingent upon funding and satisfactory employee performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year of work experience processing, tracking, and maintaining financial records; preparing financial reports; and verifying and reconciling financial data.
One year of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Excel.
Experience with grants accounting within government
Experience with the life-cycle of grants management, workflow and process management
Experience with Nonprofit, foundation or government program administration
Ability to analyze financial information and express analysis as written and oral communication
Familiarity with Maryland State accounting systems such as R*STARS and FMIS
Familiarity with workflow modeling and business process management
