Introduction

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM), is seeking an experienced and energetic individual to fill the position of Administrative Officer III (Equal Opportunity Compliance Coordinator) in the Office of The Statewide EEO Coordinator.

Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing statistics and program information related to the Statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Program and for producing the Annual Statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Reports. The position provides training and technical assistance to equal employment opportunity field staff in data analysis and reporting requirements and coordinates with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights concerning data collection and analysis. The position develops and tracks goals, objectives, and performance measures for the Managing for Results Program, coordinates special projects, and provides administrative support. This position supports the Department of Budget and Management’s mission and goals to have a high quality workforce that reflects the diversity of the State and provides efficient and sound government to the citizens of Maryland.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

 2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.  

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience collecting and analyzing statistics to be used in reports.
  • One year of experience developing and designing databases using Access or similiar software.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Civil Rights laws.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must be provided prior to hire.
