LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position will be to provide high level program policy development and legislative support to the OPHI. The duties will be to conduct scientific literature review, data collection activities, analyze, develop and present information on public health initiatives, health care services, and policies and programs. This position serves as the legislative liaison for OPHI. In that capacity, the HPA II reviews and makes data informed policy recommendations on bills during legislative session and legislated initiatives during MDH and OPHI legislative meetings. This position will also be the leader within OPHI for the development and submission of legislative reports and other legislated deliverables. The HPA II supports the administrative processes related to legislative, and policy development activities. This position will also support the health policy and legislative concerns of programs across OPHI including the Office of Primary Care Access, State Office of Rural Health, Office of Workforce Development, the State Health Improvement Process (SHIP), Opioid Prevention Programs, and the Office of School Health.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
Notes:
1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.
