Introduction

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) serves as one of the largest revenue sources for the State of Maryland, supporting important state programs and services including education, public health and safety, human resources and the environment. In addition to generating revenue from the sale of lottery products and promotions, the MLGCA is also responsible for the oversight of the state’s casino gaming program, providing direction and guidance to its casino partners on financial, security, regulatory and licensing procedures for the facilities.

Main Purpose of Job

Provide support to Sales management team regarding reporting. Ability to distribute various documents to both internal and external sources on a daily/weekly basis. May be asked to create and proof reports as well.

POSITION DUTIES

Trains current and new employees in the Sales division using the sales tools (Microsoft Surface Go) and related programs (Gem Intelligence, Gem Office, GMS and Gem Retailer) as well as using Google suite of products, Microsoft Word and Excel. Keeps abreast of upgrades to Lottery software, Google and Microsoft software which may affect the usage of the sales tool(s). 

Work with Lottery Human Resources to deliver content regarding Agency wide training. Training will include content such as Conflict Resolution, Ethics, Diversity, and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace among other topics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Eight years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience developing a training schedule for new and current employees.
Experience providing an ongoing training program for current employees. 
Experience using Microsoft Office.
Experience using Google.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
