POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of the Management Associate is to provide managerial and administrative support services to the Office of Human Resources. The primarily responsibility is to assure OHR runs smoothly and efficiently by tracking and routing Personnel Transaction Requests and providing clerical support to the Director of Human Resources. The position will supervise the Office Secretary, creates requisitions in FMIS, create PowerPoints, reconcile credit card and ordering all office supplies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties. 

Notes
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted  at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience. 
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration or Personnel Specialist classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Special Assistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. At least one year Human Resources experience, specifically working with Workday.
2. At least two years’ experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel(tracking), Publisher, PowerPoint, Access Adobe: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Prezi Presentation).
3. At least one year experience using the State's Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and working with budget and/or procurement.  
4. At least two years’ experience working for a senior level administrator or executive.  
5. At least one year experience developing, editing and facilitating technical writing and style standards for documentation.
6. At least one year experience Strong written and oral communication skills.  
7. Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively. 
8. Ability to demonstrate teamwork.  
9. Flexibility in a busy environment.  
10. Strong time management, priority setting and problem-solving skills.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to State of Maryland Employees only.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
