Introduction
This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Directs the activities of the child support program by adhering to federal, state and local laws and policies.
- Develops, implements and monitors budgets and contracts pertaining to the child support program.
- Coordinates the operations of the local Child Support Program with Cooperative Reimbursement Agencies and participate in the development, review, approval and monitoring of annual contracts for same.
- Assures the integrity of child support operations through adherence to internal control requirements, maintenance of required records, completion and use of required reports and participation in audits/reviews.
- Serves as the recognized expert on child support matters when interacting with public officials, the media, governmental and community agencies and customers.
- Develops comprehensive strategies and coordinate the integration of the child support within the department and in partnership with other community stakeholders to support the mission of the department and DHS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Eight years of experience in administrative, professional or technical work, three years of which must have involved supervision of other employees or exercising responsibility for program development.
Notes:
1. Applicants may substitute education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of the required general experience.
2. Experience in a human service program may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required four years of college education.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Officer Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, three (3) years of which must have been in an administrative supervisory or consultative capacity.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of one-year experience in MDEC and Microsoft Office and Child Support systems
- Three years supervision/management/leadership experience, preferably in Child Support
- Bachelor's degree preferably in social services, human services, legal studies, public administration or similar field
