Main Purpose of Job
The Agency Buyer IV position with DJS is responsible for materials management including procurement, receipts, storage, distribution and disposition of supplies and equipment. This position will also be responsible contacting vendors, initiating requisitions and purchase orders for materials, supplies and equipment.
Initiate requisitions throughout FMIS to produce purchase orders.
Soliciting bids from vendors for category I and II small procurements.
Assist in preparing specifications of supplies, materials and equipment.
Develop storage methods for supplies and other inventory.
Process in house requisitions and supervises the distribution of supplies and other commodities to units and departments in the agency.
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate. Experience: Eight years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment, six years of which must have included experience at the supervisory or management level or must have involved the final responsibility for purchasing and requisitioning. Notes: Applicants may substitute education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for one year of experience for up to one year of the required general experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Access and Excel.
2. Possess an intermediate level of experience with FMIS, ADPICS, R*STARS or similar accounting system.
3. Two (2) years experience with procurement.
