Main Purpose of Job

The specialized work involving responsibility forth materials management of a large state institution involving the procurement, receipts, storage, distribution and disposition of supplies, material and equipment. Work involves extensive but relatively routine contact with vendors and purchasing department in initiating requisitions and purchase orders for material, supplies and equipment.


Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Eight years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment, six years must have included experience at the supervisory or management level or must have involved the final responsibility for purchasing and requisitioning.

Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for one year of the required general experience.


1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Access and Excel
2. Possess an intermediate level of experience with FMIS, ADPICS, R*STARS or similar accounting system 
3. Two (2) years experience with procurement
