POSITION DUTIES
A Casino Compliance Representative is responsible for performing casino compliance duties at the Maryland Lottery licensed gaming facilities. Employees in this class are responsible for certifying revenue from the video lottery terminals, receiving complaints from the public, receiving shipments of State owned equipment, monitoring facility employees and vendors and ensuring that various aspects of the casino internal controls and security surveillance and responsible gaming plans are adhered to, perform licensing functions, fingerprinting of casino employment applicants, and ensure the integrity of the VLT gaming operation. In addition, employees in this class are responsible for conducting investigations, when warranted into the following: operation of the video lottery terminals, maintenance of the video lottery terminals and associated equipment and software and any other investigations the Lottery may deem necessary. The Casino Compliance Representative reports to the Casino Compliance Manager. Casino Compliance Representatives are considered essential employees and in the event of a declared emergency, they are to report to their assigned duty station.
Employees in this position must be able to perform the following essential functions:
1. Certifying revenue from the Video Lottery Terminals (VLT).
2. Receiving complaints relative to casino operations from the public.
3. Receiving shipments of State-owned equipment.
4. Monitoring facility employees and vendors and ensuring that various aspects of the casino’s internal controls, security surveillance and responsible gaming plans are adhered to.
5. Performing licensing functions and ensuring the integrity of the VLT gaming operation.
6. Conducting investigation involving casino operation matters when warranted.
7. This position will be based out of Rocky Gap casino and will report to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency headquarters in Baltimore when necessary. Individuals must be willing to work all shifts. Employees in this classification are deemed essential employees and must report for work or remain at work during declared state of emergency conditions to support continued lottery and casino operations. Employees are subject to call-in 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above at the rate of one year experience for 30 credit hours of education for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non- commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.
