Main Purpose of Job

A Therapy Services Manager is the managerial level of work overseeing two or more therapy services programs such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Activity Therapy, Pre-Vocational Adjustment, Speech and Audiology and Communications Disorders; at least one of the programs must be physical or occupational therapy. Employees in this classification are responsible for program planning and evaluation; budget development and execution; and policy development for therapy services programs in a State facility or local health department. Employees in this classification supervise lower-level supervisors, such as Physical Therapist Supervisors, Occupational Therapist Supervisors, Activity Therapist Supervisors and Work Adjustment Supervisors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Maryland license in Occupational Therapy, Physician Therapy or Speech Language Therapy from the applicable state board and at least 3 years of experience providing therapy services in an acute care, skilled nursing facility or long term care setting, including at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification must possess a current license as a Physical Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners in accordance with Physical Therapy Article, Section 13-301 or as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice in accordance with Occupational Therapy Article, Section 10-301, Annotated Code of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.

For education obtained outside the U.S., any job offer will be contingent on the candidate providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment (and may be requested prior to interview).
