POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to perform financial duties in the areas of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and to perform Central Services duties such as, Inventory and mail. Record, review, research and complete reports for overpayments and CCU collections. At all times the incumbent will provide customer service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds the standards set by the department. Reviews and process agency payments through FMIS system Prepare daily Child Support bank deposit when needed, issue gift cards, Audit EBT cards. Serve as Security Monitor for the unit. Carry the afternoon mail to the Post Office, collect the afternoon mail from the Market Street location and collect the morning mail from the Post Office when needed. Other duties as assigned. Responsible for inventory of all Capital Assets for the Department. Duties include tracking and tagging all new inventory, changes of location, disposal of assets. Conduct yearly inventory for the Department. Report any facility issues to the landlord and track resolution. Assist in transporting fleet vehicles for repair when needed. Participates, as needed, in the agency’s mandated obligation to provide mass care and shelter under the direction of the County or State Emergency Operations Center. Serve as Essential Staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.

Notes:

1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.

2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. A minimum of five courses or six months of accounting-related training in a vocational training program in subjects such as journalizing transactions, analyzing transactions into debits and credits, posting to a general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. One year of experience using FMIS accounting system.
2. One year of experience using D365 accounting system. 
3. One year of experience using Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets. 
4. One year of experience reconciling accounts.
