Main Purpose of Job
The Fiscal Accounts
Technician may perform fiscal duties that include posting account
transactions, as well as, recording, and reconciling departmental
cash and revenues. The incumbent in this position will
ensure cash/check receipts and revenue as needed. In addition, the
incumbent will utilize, reconcile and process financial data for payment
in ADPICS, RSTARS, and Docuware accounting and control systems to accounts in a
timely manner according to the State Comptroller's regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.
Notes:
1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Experience with the State's Accounts Payable (AP)
process;
- Experience using Docuware Management System;
- Experience with the State of Maryland Financial
Management Information System (FMIS) AP process: ADPICS and R* STARS;
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
