POSITION DUTIES
Examines financial data received from commercial vendors to determine accuracy of commission payments; performs reconciliation of monthly commission statements. Develops and maintains spreadsheets and ledgers to ensure commissions paid balance to contracted amount, Processes commission payments for blind vendors and USPS; Records commission and gross sales amounts into various federal and state reports; Invoices blind vendors for late set-aside payments and account receivable debts. Uses FMIS to identify payment history for blind vendors when they inquire about not receiving checks timely. Maintains files of vending commissions, commission payments to blind vendors, gross sales reported by commercial vendors, national average payments for selected blind vendors, account receivables on vendors not paying monthly set-aside and other debts. Develops and distributes reports for summary Processes monthly set-aside reports from blind vendors, reconciles monthly statements and inputs data into an automated spreadsheet. Develops, updates and implements automated spreadsheet and reports when new facilities are added for use by other staff. Provides support on phone calls for all OBVS headquarters staff and BP staff; Assists in maintaining equipment repair log; assists in preparing internal requisitions for equipment purchases and other needs. Assists with managing complaints from blind vendors & agency personnel reporting vending machine issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.
Notes:
- Candidates may substitute experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with developing excel spreadsheets and formulas or similar program.

Experience working with the State of Maryland’s Financial Management System (FMIS) or a similar financial management system.

Experience in researching discrepancies in accounting and budgetary data and making necessary adjustments.

Experience in providing bookkeeping or accounting support in the operation of a small business or in the food service industry.
