Main Purpose of Job
This is a professional contractual position that serves as the content specialist for the Maryland Mental Health Initiative responsible for providing technical assistance in support of ensuring the overall coordination and implementation of the Initiative.
POSITION DUTIES
Provides technical assistance for
the Maryland Mental Health Initiative to support and accomplish the goals and
objectives; implements program components to assure completion in accordance
with MSDE and Division timelines, procedures and policies; collaborates with
staff and partners to monitor progress toward goals; develops and implements
protocols, policies, procedures, processes, evaluation methods and strategies
to ensure effective and efficient operation; facilitates activities and
services for each region; oversees procedures and methods for monitoring fiscal
and programmatic aspects of the Initiative; completes reports and presentations
encompassing updates and recommendations to Mental Health Initiative Director; responds
to requests for assistance from Local School Systems and the crisis response
and clinical support teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Possession of a Master’s degree or 36 credit
equivalent in Education, School Counseling, Education Administration, Public
Administration, Social Work or related degree.
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of related experience in
coordinating or administering education programs and/or student support services.
Notes:
1) Two additional years of experience, directly
related to the position option may be substituted for the required
Master’s Degree.
2) Possession of a Doctorate in a field related to the
position option may be substituted for one year of the required
experience.
3) The required field of education and experience
are unique for each option and are established by the Department of
Education in accordance with Section 2-104 of the Education Article of the
Maryland Annotated Code. The specific education and experience
qualifications for each position are on record in the Human Resource
Management Branch of the Division of Business Services of the Department
of Education.
4) Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces
military service experience as a commissioned officer in Education Program
classifications or Education Program specialty codes in the Education field of
work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
