Main Purpose of Job
This is a professional position responsible for managing
teams to provide support to all 24 school systems in the implementation of
evidence-based interventions and to monitor school systems in use of the
Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund to mitigate
learning loss and accelerate student learning as a result of the COVID-19
pandemic.
POSITION DUTIES
The Director of Academic Acceleration is
responsible for coordinating support to all 24 school systems and monitoring
the implementing of interventions designed to acceleration student learning.
The Director is responsible for (1) leading monitoring teams; (2) managing
deliverables associated with ESSER Fund, which include grants management; (3)
coordinating regular on-site and virtual support to school systems; (4) leading
targeted professional learning experiences; and (5) providing leadership and
expertise in the implementation of monitoring protocols and evidenced-based
interventions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: A Master’s Degree or equivalent 36 post-baccalaureate
credit hours of course work in Education Administration/Supervision or field
related to the job duties from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE: Six years of professional experience in monitoring
school performance, providing instructional leadership, facilitating
professional learning experiences, managing grants, and/or leading school
improvement initiatives is required.
Notes:
Possession of a doctorate in a field related to this position may be
substituted for one year of the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of requirements
associated with the American Rescue Plan Elementary
and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund; knowledge of effective monitoring practices and evidenced-based
interventions; knowledge of grant and fiscal management; skill in delivering
professional learning experiences for adult learners; skill in identifying
school-level and system-level needs and delivering appropriate programmatic
solutions, technical assistance, training, and guidance on issues related to mitigating
learning loss and accelerating learning; skill in organizing and managing
multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines; ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships and communicate effectively with a variety of
stakeholders; and ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment in making
decisions.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Proof of eligibility to work in compliance with
the Immigration Reform and Control Act and travel
throughout the state are required.
