This is a position specific recruitment. The resulting certified eligible list may be used to staff several current and future vacancies for this position/function only.

GRADE

Call Center Representatives- $14.50/hour

LOCATION OF POSITION

This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates to be used to fill current and future vacancies in the Comptroller of Maryland Call Centers located throughout the state. Applicants should indicate on their applications all counties where they are willing to accept employment for this classification.

Positions are available throughout the State of Maryland in the following locations:

  • Anne Arundel
  • Washington County
  • Wicomico

POSITION DUTIES

The Comptroller of Maryland, Taxpayer Services Division is seeking Temporary Workers to assist taxpayers by answering and resolving telephone inquiries coming into our call centers and branch offices.

Tax Law and PC training will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: These positions work Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch. Evening and weekend work may be required especially during peak times of the year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: None

Experience: None

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
  • Experience involving one or more of the following areas: customer service, telecommunications, fiscal clerical or clerical related work.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is open to individuals willing and able to work in either our Anne Arundel County, Washington County or Wicomico County locations.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Prior to appointment, the employee must successfully undergo a background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. This background check is comprehensive and may involve fingerprinting.
