Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the Executive Director position is to administer the statutory mandates of the Board of Examiners in Optometry, established under Title11, Health Occupations Article and Regulations of the Code of Maryland, 10.28. To develop, evaluate and implement administrative procedures to ensure that the Board fulfills its mandated responsibilities. The Board's statutory responsibilities include licensure/certification functions, disciplinary functions, legislative, regulatory and public information functions, fiscal responsibilities and general administrative functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, 6 years of professional experience in health or human services, including 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.

A Master's degree from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess the supervisory or managerial experience that includes broad fiscal management, compliance tracking, legislative and regulatory processes, information technology savvy and high level interrelationship skills with stakeholders.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
