Main Purpose of Job

This position will serve as the Administrator for the delivery of comprehensive health care and contractual services including personnel selection, retention, budgeting and coordinating care with internal and external resources for nursing, special health programs and food services for the Department of Juvenile Services. Position duties include securing and monitoring all vendor contracts, pharmaceutical and medical supply usage and inventory, developing and interpreting all policies, directives and procedures for medical health and food services and, auditing DJS operated facilities for compliance with related departmental policies and standards, State and federal regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Seven years of experiences as a Registered Nurse including four years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Notes:
1. A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

3.  For education obtained outside the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Willingness to travel Statewide to DJS facilities as required for oversight.
