Main Purpose of Job

This position provides the management level of clinical psychiatric services to patients suffering from behavioral health care issues who are in need of treatment.  Positions function as the sole Director of Clinical and Medical Services and manages and supervises all clinical departments and program services to assure the delivery of quality patient care and compliance with standards of accreditation, licensing and regulatory requirements.  Duties are performed in the Behavioral Health Administration in a 24/7 facility in central Maryland by licensed and board certified psychiatrists. This position ensures the clinical programs comply with all standards for licensure and accreditation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a degree in medicine (MD) from an accredited college or university, Board Certification in psychiatry and two years of medical practice in psychiatry, preferably at a supervisory or administrative level.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Applicants must be board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians

2. Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law.  Candidates that possess a license to practice medicine in another state will be considered, but if selected candidates must receive a Maryland medical license prior to hire date.

A copy of a current medical license and board certification should be attached to the application.

For education obtained outside the U.S., any job offer will be contingent on the candidate providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment (and may be requested prior to interview).

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
