Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of warehouse duties in order to sufficiently supply and equip the Maryland Department of State Police and its political subdivision with the appropriate supplies and equipment that are necessary to accomplish its mission.

POSITION DUTIES

Fill requisition orders;

 

Review and screen picking slips for accuracy and completeness, and research and resolve and discrepancies found;

 

Perform other warehouse duties as requested by the Director, Assistant Director, or Warehouse Supervisor;

 

Receive goods and complete the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) entries for stock and special orders;

 

Verify computerized and manual uniform equipment records when employees request uniform equipment;

 

Preform other warehouse duties as requested by the Director, Assistant Director, Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse NCOIC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of experience in receiving, storing and issuing supplies, materials or equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as described above on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics or unit supply field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:


1. Experience in receiving and processing requisitions for the distribution of supplies.

 

2. Experience in the development of storage methods pertaining to the allocation and arrangement of materials and supplies.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered for this classification. Therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your application. Successful candidates will be place on the Eligible List categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED OR QUALIFIED and remain eligible for consideration for at least one year from the date of examination. The list will be used by the hiring manager to select employees.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position. You may be required to complete a qualifications supplement, or the rating may be based on your application. Report all experience and education that is related to this position. Applicants may be given a physical examination and will be subject to an interview, background investigation, polygraph examination and substance abuse testing.
