POSITION DUTIES

This position staffs the Employment Services Customer Service Center. This position responds to human resources related questions or  concerns received in person, by email or by telephone. This position will handle both inbound and outbound calls for the main customer service number and provide front desk coverage. This position maintains Employment Services tracking sheet and monitors for timely completion of assigned tasks. The position will be required to obtain Human Resource Coordinator access for Workday tasks.


  • Assists human resources staff with health benefits, payroll forms, retirement forms, policy acknowledgments and ID form. 
  • Maintains current copies of personnel policies, procedures, rules, regulations and salary schedules. 
  • Serves as primary staff during bi-annual Performance Evaluation Program (PEP). 
  • Handles routing of daily mail and file maintenance. 
  • Provides assistance on special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Three years of general clerical or administrative support experience at least one year of which must have been paraprofessional personnel experience involving the application of public sector procedures, policies, rules and regulations to specific employment actions. Appropriate paraprofessional personnel experience should have included responsibility for activities such as, preparing and maintaining employment records, calculating salaries, applying and interpreting rules and policies, preparing personnel-related reports, counseling employees regarding benefits and obligations, and responding to inquiries concerning employment actions. 

Note: One additional year of paraprofessional personnel experience as defined above may be substituted for one year of general clerical or administrative support experience. 

1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Experience within a call center environment, handling high volume calls and/or providing receptionist duties.  
2. One year of experience utilizing Spreadsheets and/or work management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel or similar programs.
