This position performs administrative duties in support of the Business Relations Branch, Community Rehabilitation Programs, and the DORS administrative offices.

Provides administrative support to the Program Manager, Business Relations, in the administration of the Business Relations Branch program activities, including training, providing information to businesses and completing tax credit forms,  entering Employer Records and Services and Job Search Activities in the AWARE case management system. Assists in the management of the Governor's QUEST internship program, preparing information, monitoring the email box, creating spreadsheets to track intern assignments, providing guidance to intern supervisors,  and compiling data and reports.  Manages the Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) email box, monitors assignment of reviews and enters data into spreadsheets. Coordinates recruitment activities, including completing HR forms, and managing the interview process. Supervises interns assigned to AFS.

Performs payment processing and purchasing tasks, including researching prices and obtaining quotes as necessary, preparing internal requisitions/purchase orders, reviewing invoices/approving payments, reviewing corporate credit card logs and employee expense accounts for accuracy and conformity to policy, preparing bank deposits, and approving payments in FMIS. 

Provides administrative support to Staff Specialists for Community Rehabilitation Programs, including maintaining documentation, preparing materials and records for CRPs and drafting Cooperative Agreements.  Coordinates with other Administrative office staff in providing support and administrative duties for the DORS administrative office.   


Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.


1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.


  • Experience working with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suites. 
  • Experience working with Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Experience preparing procurement documents and internal requisitions. 
  • Experience with using FMIS.


Limited to current Contractual and Permanent State of Maryland employees.
