Introduction

This is a position Specific Recruitment for the State Department of Assessments and Taxation, Charter Unit - Business Services. The resulting eligible list will be used for this position only.  Interested persons will need to reapply for future recruitments in this classification.

POSITION DUTIES

Responsible for the oversight and keying the online hybrid filings. Maintains the SDAT by appointment email address for document processing. Researches and contacts charter specialists for completion of missing/conflicting filings that have been approved in NIC but the status is not updated. 

Exercises independent judgment in making corrections or adjustments to the business entity legal records maintained by the Department. Which may be submitted to the department in-person, by phone, mail or e-mail inquires. 

Assists with training and development of the OSC responsible for processing documents, by helping to reduce errors with keying and balances their TSO. 

Work orders checks through MBES prior to processing corporate documents. Tallies checks & credit card receipts on a daily basis. Generates a TSO report & reconcile checks & receipts with the report. 

Reviews accepts and rejects for legal sufficiency certain corporate documents filed with the Department including resolutions and all legal entity formations on a daily basis. Build Amendment History of corporate enti6es in the old card file when necessary. 

Performs various other duties as assigned; which may include but not limited to supporting other teams when appropriate participates in training provided by management for any job duty deficiencies, regularly checks and responds to emails and follows SDAT's Customer Service Policy. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired or Preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced, customer and team-orientated work environment.
Experience working with computers and different software including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint and the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) internal programs.
Experience with handling multiple work assignments and multitasking. 
Knowledge and experience with interacting with the public, business, attorneys, Legal representatives and other State employees.
Experience training, instructing and leading employees on Standard Operating procedures.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Must be willing to work in Baltimore city.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
