Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Training, coaching, observing, and mentoring;
- Ensuring that workloads are distributed in a fair and equitable fashion;
- Monitoring staff compliance with agency rules and regulations;
- Determining that agency staff are providing the highest quality services possible;
- Participating in statewide planning committees, such as the Supervisors’ Forum, quality improvement activities, task forces, etc;
- Checking equipment to identify worn or damaged items on a regular basis to ensure that equipment meets acceptable standards for the delivery of service to customers, and reporting any problems in this area to the central office;
- Participates in a variety of personnel-related activities to ensure effective local office operations by: Reading materials and/or attending meetings and training to enable employee to abide by laws, rules, regulations, procedures, policies, ethical responsibilities promulgated and/or governing the agency to ensure compliance and services to customers;
- Conducting meetings with all staff to inform of new and updated changes in agency policy;
- Completing a written evaluation of each staff person semi-annually by meeting with each staff member, discussing performance and other evaluation factors and presenting the staff person with a copy of the evaluation and a verbal explanation of the report in order to continuously improve the levels of services to customers;
- Promoting harmony at the work place through discussions, meetings and actions to ensure a safe and stress free working environment;
- Resolving disputes and complaints;
- Organizing, recording training activities and distributing training-related materials to alert all staff to upcoming training schedules and encouraging participation in same to expand individual knowledge and skill levels to enhance the quality of customer service;
- Instructing staff in the implementation and use of agency resources;
- Ensuring that all center staff receives training in order to remain current in the use and implementation of procedures, regulations, automation, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of experience in the field of occupational placement and job development involving conducting interviews with persons seeking employment and for providing assistance to employers needing qualified personnel to fill vacancies.

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience involving taking job orders from employers or job development, conducting job-ready interviews, registering job applicants, verifying job referrals, conducting vocational placements, performing unemployment adjudications, or appraising job applicants for employability on a year-to year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute education at an accredited college or university at the rate of thirty credit hours for a year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute active duty military recruiting experience or career counseling experience on a year-by-year basis for the required education or experience.
