Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to plan, develop and evaluate program operations for the Community Health Services (CHS) department. Position also provides supervision of Community Health Nurse Supervisor, Community Health Nurse Program Supervisors and other support staff. This position is designated emergency essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health or a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience as a community health nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity or two (2) years of experience as a community health nurse and three (3) years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a registered nurse.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess public health experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.  A copy of your license or license verification should accompany your application.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
