Main Purpose of Job

A Therapy Services Manager is the managerial level of work overseeing therapy services programs at Deer's Head Hospital Center such as but not limited to: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Activity Therapy, Art Therapy, Pre-Vocational Adjustment, Speech and Audiology and Communications disorder. Employees in this classification are responsible for program planning and evaluation; budget development and execution; and policy development for therapy services programs in a state facility or local health department. Employees in this classification may administratively or technically supervise lower-level supervisors involved in therapy services programs, such as but not limited to: Physical Therapist Supervisor, Occupational Therapist Supervisor, Art Therapist Supervisor, Speech Pathologist/ Audiologist Supervisor, Activity Services Supervisor, or Work Adjustment Supervisors. Employees in this classification provide technical supervision to non-clinical staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Maryland license in Occupational Therapy, Physician Therapy or Speech Language Therapy from the applicable state board and at least 3 years of experience providing therapy services in an acute care, skilled nursing facility or long term care setting, including at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess the following:

  • Experience working in a long-term care environment providing therapy services.
  • Experience ensuring Joint Commission standards are maintained in the perspective department. 
  • Experience overseeing outpatient therapy services.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

**This recruitment is limited to current employees of the Deer's Head Hospital Center only.**

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

 In accordance with the Health Occupations Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, employees in this classification must possess a current license: as a Physical Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners in accordance with Title 13-301 or as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice in accordance with Title 10-301 or as a Speech Pathologist Audiologist from the Maryland State Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers & Speech-Language Pathologists in accordance Title 2 or as a Clinical Professional Art Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists in accordance with Title 17-101.

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
