Main Purpose of Job

This position will serve as the cottage/unit manager for the Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment Program. This position's initial assignment will be to assume managerial responsibilities of a 24/7 residential unit to which they are assigned varying numbers of male/female forensic clients and for which programs/standards/protocols have been specially adapted and specifically implemented. This position has been charged with ensuring that the treatment of and services provided special forensic population are at all times consistent with Federal, State, Agency and Program laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Five years of experience, four years of experience providing residential services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting and one year of experience supervising residential services staff.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 credit hours in health or human services, education or the behavioral sciences and four years of experience providing residential services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting to include one year of experience supervising residential services staff for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute possession of an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in the treatment of developmental disabilities in a mental health or closely related curriculum to include a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting and two years of non‑supervisory experience providing residential services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting for four years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in the treatment of developmental disabilities in a mental developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting for the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Hospital Corpsman classifications or Health Care Specialist and Medical Services specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following experience:
· communicating and coordinating with the families of individuals with intellectual disabilities 
· coordinating and leading interdisciplinary meetings 
· developing, implementing and oversight of active treatment program 
· working with individuals with forensic involvement
· developing and implementing of Person-Centered Plans for adults with intellectual disabilities

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training in and maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
