Main Purpose of Job

This position will design and create symbiotic and automated technical solutions that work for the DHS cloud and on-prem servers and user endpoint. Plans, designs, and produces scripts for on-prem, hybrid, and cloud IT systems. This position works closely with the Network Services and Security teams when determining the hardware and/or software requirements and technical solutions. Focuses on supporting DHS modernization efforts. Ensures the continual provision of excellent customer service to promote and support the use of technology that enables productivity, and further enhances the level of customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for providing a logical diagram and detailed inventory of the cloud environment. This position is also responsible for diagramming and tracking elevated and lower permissions in the cloud environment.  Additional development required to automate and simplify processes for distribution and creation of images and application packages. Lastly, this position performs other duties that address gaps in organizational, operational, and project activities. 

POSITION DUTIES

Designs and configurs cloud environment that meets audit and DHS Security requirements. Responds to and resolves (trouble-ticket) work orders for diagnosing and resolving outages that involve the hybrid and cloud environment. Applies zero-trust framework to the hybrid and cloud environments. Responds to and provide just in time access for changes that are necessary to the cloud environment. Creates root cause analysis for outages and critical incidents. Comments on all scripts and documents the purpose and expected results. Responds to admin and management inquiries in a timely and courteous manner, while ensuring all communication is documented. Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers. Communication and information dispersed is clear and concise. Educates admins on the implemented solutions.  Ensures documentation is always updated after any change is made in the environment.  Keeps abreast of the latest technology. Meets regularly with CNS staff to discuss policy, procedure and methodology including server building, updates to networking procedures, operating system upgrades, software upgrades, and other new technologies to be implemented in the DHS Enterprise Network. May attend conferences, seminars and workshops to upgrade and obtain new technological advancements. Trains users and local administrators in existing and new enterprise-wide policies, software, hardware, and services. Takes initiative to identify and resolve problems. Assures team members have necessary training and tools to successfully meet DHS project\task completion. Mentors junior engineers and other team members on existing and new technologies. Ensures gaps in organizational, operational, and project activities are addressed and met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of an Associates Degree in a computer related field from an accredited college. 

Experience:  Five (5) years of IT experience that includes experience with building images, writing scripts, endpoint management systems administration along with three (3) years of supervisory experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. One year of desktop support experience.
2. CCNA Certification
3. One year experience in Azure AD including Enterprise Applications.
4. One year experience with PowerShell and using virtual systems management.

·       Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).

·       Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.

·       Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.
