IT FUNCTIONAL ANALYST TRAINEE

Introduction

We are seeking a highly independent person for an entry level position with lots of room for advancement.  The successful candidate will have some HRIS experience, be detail-oriented and be productive in a remote work environment.  This position is part of a help desk team with moderate to high call volume at certain times.

Baltimore, MD 21201 (This position will have the opportunity for remote work/teleworking.)

Main Purpose of Job

Position will function as a technical support position for SPS and other HR systems including Workday, JobAps, and Cornerstone (the HUB) by working with HRIS Analysts to execute day to day operations. The SPS systems such as Workday, JobAps, and The Hub are agency and statewide systems housed on large client/server type interactions delivered through cloud based platforms.

POSITION DUTIES

Provide technical and operational assistance as HRIS support staff in personnel systems such as JobAps, Workday, Cornerstone (the Hub) and any other State of Maryland Personnel IT systems to Shared Services HRIS Analyst, Shared Services Help Desk staff, DBM Administration Staff, Agency support staff and employees.

Advise end users on system issues and provide appropriate corrective actions.

Complete operational tasks such a security requests, organization structure maintenance, system task management, EGov email management

Assist end users through the login process in all systems.

Develop and maintain support guidelines as it pertains to both support staff and SSD employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Four years of experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and two years of experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications for the required experience.  

2. Candidates may substitute experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database or other applications on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Information Technology or other related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems for the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience operating or using HRIS such as Workday or PeopleSoft.

Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.

Experience in systems documentation.

Enterprise system security experience.
