The Comptroller's Revenue Administration Division is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, leader for our Financial Audit Team.
This position will involve overseeing, supporting, and supervising a team of professional financial compliance auditors. These employees conduct financial and compliance audits to ensure the propriety of tax form data submitted by taxpayers and tax preparers. In addition, this position will oversee the pre-audit and post-audit research that shows the purpose of the audit and assisting with the review process of tax preparers participating in Maryland's Modernized Electronic Filing ("MeF") program, review and approval of MD State Tax Credits for both businesses and individuals, and will serve as the Case Management System (CAMS) Administrator for our Division. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by 3 credit hours in auditing.
Experience: Four years of experience performing financial and compliance audits of a State agency, grantee, business or other entity.
NOTES:
- Applicants who had met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor or a Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
- Applicants may substitute one year of professional accounting experience for one of auditing experience only.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Internal Review classifications or Auditing specialty codes in the Financial or Auditing fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential
evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Federal and State tax law.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with handling large volumes of work and prioritizing.
- Experience with computer applications.

- Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
- Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. This background check is comprehensive and may involve fingerprinting. Upon initial appointment OR promotion to a position in the State Personnel Management System, an employee is required to serve an initial six- month probationary period. This probationary period may be extended an additional six months under certain circumstances at the discretion of the appointing authority.
