LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Facilitates the Managing Medical Absence protocol for on-the-job injuries and personal illness/injuries.
- Coordinates the recruitment of non-mandated and contractual positions.
- Manages the hiring bonus program and non-competitive promotions for correctional officer series.
- Serves as Retirement Coordinator to facilitate the enrollment, retirement and beneficiary updates for Maryland State Retirement and Pension System and Supplemental Retirement programs.
- Maintains Retirement coordinator certification.
- Serves as Health Benefit Coordinator and advises employees on health benefits programs for new and current employees.
- Assists with Annual Open Enrollment.
- Serves as liaison between the Department and Department of Budget Management (DBM) Employee Benefits Unit.
- Maintains Health Benefits certification.
- Maintains State of Maryland Human Resources certification.
- Ensures timely and accurate entry into the Workday system.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification are required to obtain certification in State Personnel Management System policies and procedures and in the functionality of the Statewide Personnel System from the Office of Personnel Services and Benefits, Maryland Department of Budget and Management within six months from the time of appointment to the position. Employees are also required to obtain recertification every six months thereafter.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
