POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for conducting specialized outreach and implementation of select nutrition initiatives for MSDE’s Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs (OSCNP), to include administration of the Farm to School Program, grants management, select training, communications, and other broad responsibilities for managing external partnerships.

This position serves as a liaison between OSCNP and other MSDE divisions, state government offices, child nutrition program (CNP) stakeholders, advocacy, and public interest groups. This position also participates as a member of interdisciplinary teams to advance the effectiveness and implementation of OSCNP’s mission and goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  A Master's degree or at least 36 hours of equivalent post-baccalaureate course work from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of administrative, librarian, teaching or rehabilitation work in education, library, public health or rehabilitation programs; or a Registered Dietician.

Notes: 
1. Candidates may substitute two additional years of experience as described above for the required education.
2. The above requirements are set by the Maryland State Department of Education in accordance with Education Article, Section 2-104, Annotated Code of Maryland.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications. 

- Experience with Child Nutrition Programs.
- Registered Dietician.
- Experience managing website and social media content.
- Experience writing or managing grants.
- Experience with various software and technologies including SharePoint, Canva Graphic Design, Articulate, Canvas Learning Management System, Excel or others.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
