POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to organize and oversee the production of MCE metal related product(s) in the Tag and Outdoor Furniture Plant including production of essential products utilized by state agencies.


  • Plans and schedules production operations in coordination with Pertinent Departments. 
  • Coordinates the delivery of finished products to customers. 
  • Prepares “costing sheets” for items produced.
  • Plans for and implements production of new or modified products.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager to deploy manufacturing strategy through strong leadership of people and operations.
  • Develop plant staff and trainees to ensure all team members are at required levels of performance
  • Manage using metrics and a proven management experience & process.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Employee Relations, Customer Service, and profitability.
  • Drive analytical problem solving using Organizational Excellence tools
  • Build strong customer relationships to ensure an understanding of their needs while demonstrating a sense of commitment to them.
  • Ensure complete Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance.
  • Manage plant P&L to ensure profitability.
  • Able to bring ideas from concept to reality.
  • Ensure production metrics are being met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Experience: Six years of experience involving the training or supervision of lower-level industries personnel.

1. Specific educational requirements and other selection standards are set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209 of the Annotated Code of Maryland and are listed in the Code of Maryland Regulations Title 12, Subtitle 10, Chapter 01. 
2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Experience training and supervising high volume manufacturing processes in metal production or a related field such as metal welding, fabrication, design, powder coat painting, or related production processes. 
2. Experience with quality control, workplace organization, and forecasting production.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma Manufacturing.   
2. Experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management (ERP and/or CRM) software.
