POSITION DUTIES

Responsible for collection of debts referred to CCU from various agencies.  The collection agent achieves this task by attempting to contact the debtor by phone, generating notices or e-mail where available.  Responsible for providing telephone coverage in CCU's Call Center.

This is a special appointment position that serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Hybrid work schedule is available

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Experience in Customer Service and Debt Collection.
Note:
1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.
2. Candidate may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulation in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. One year experience in Customer Service.
2. One year experience in Debt Collection.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to undergo a criminal background check as part of the selection process due to the financial nature of the job.
