Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to administer the statutory mandates of the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists established under Title 17, Health Occupation Article and Rules and Regulations as modified by SB 655 (1992) which established fiscal and administrative autonomy for the Board. In addition, as a result of the Senate Bill 655 Implementation Plan, the Board operates with complete responsibility in the areas of licensure functions, disciplinary functions, fiscal information, computer capabilities, office/human resources functions, policy and regulation development functions, administrative functions, public relations, legislative functions, public information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of administrative or professional experience, three of which at a supervisory or management level.

A master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor’s degree.  A doctorate will substitute for two years of general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant will have substantial experience in business administration, human resources, legislation, and compliance matters. A law or advanced degree is preferred.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your applicaiton.
