This is a CONTRACTUAL position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance to the HIV/HCV testing and linkage to care program, coordinate meetings, answer phone calls, receive, distribute, verify, and file correspondences. Provide clerical support and assist with data entry and reporting required under the HIV/HCV testing and linkage to care MOU between the department and the Maryland Department of Health. The position will also be familiar with the continuity of care process, develop a means to track released persons, and audit files to assure that the State’s policy and procedure in this matter is followed.

Position will develop an -file to be used in recording all activities related to the MOU. The file will be in log format (Excel), and provide the documentation necessary to report and assess effectiveness of the program.

Position will answer telephone inquired, distribute calls and maintain a log of communications as necessary to demonstrate accountability and good customer service.

Position will obtain information upon request regarding all internal and external partners associated with this MOU and will type all correspondence as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year utilizing computers and computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) to draft correspondence, organize tasks, or, record information.


DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Experience developing Excel spreadsheets for record keeping

2. Experience using customer service skills to obtain information from internal and external partners via phone or email
