Main Purpose of Job

This position which functions as a Pregnant Women and Women with Children Family Supports Manger will have knowledge and expertise in working with women who have behavioral health disorders and their families. The Manager will work within the Clinical Services Division, Office of Gender Specific Services at the Behavioral Health Administration. This position will develop, implement, and oversee services and programs for pregnant women and women with children who have substance use disorders, mental health disorders, including those involved in the child welfare system. The position will work with various counties throughout the state, which includes working with Core Service Agencies (CSAs), Local Behavioral Health Authorities (LBHAs), Local Addictions Authorities (LAAs) and State Level Agencies such as the Department of Human Services (DHS). The position will be involved with the planning, oversight and monitoring of various Gender Specific Programs (GSS) that work with women and their families.

The position reviews and assists in the development of the Administration’s programmatic policies and fiscal practices for services that are related to women and their families. The position will review data and performance measures to support the continuation of the various programs. The position will also sit on various committees that have direct responsibility for various programs under the Gender Specific Services Office.

This position will provide technical assistance (TA) and training to various stakeholders involved in the delivery of women and family services. The position will also work with various divisions and offices within BHA.

This position is eligible for hybrid telework which is subject to change as necessitated by operations and customer-focused demands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.

Experience: Six (6) years professional experience in health services, three (3) years must have been in Addiction professional work related to treatment and services to persons with alcohol or other substance addiction and two (2) years must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.

Notes1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree or a Doctorate degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university for up to two years of the required general experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus an additional year of professional experience in health services for the required education.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess knowledge of and/or experience with the effects of substance abuse and mental health on the family system as well as the interaction between substance abuse and mental health in child neglect and abandonment situations.
