POSITION DUTIES
To direct all daily activities of the food service operation at the Charles Hickey School. This includes planning, organizing, evaluating, and directing food production and food service including the procurement of food and food service supplies. This position supports the mission of the agency by providing safe, nutritious, appetizing meals that promote the optimal health, growth, and well being of youth housed at the Charles Hickey School.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Six years of experience, two years of experience managing large-scale food service operations in an institutional, commercial, industrial or similar organization and an additional four years of experience supervising in a large- scale food service operation.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience managing large-scale food service operations in an institutional, commercial, industrial or similar organization for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Food Services Officers classifications or Food Services Manager and Services Officer specialty codes in the food service management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong
preference will be given to those candidates who possess the following:
1. Experience supervising
a large-scale food service operation in an institutional, commercial,
industrial or similar organization.
2. A Bachelor’s degree
(or higher) in Food & Beverage Management, Hospitality Management,
Dietetics, Nutrition, Food Service Management, Restaurant and Food Services
Management, Culinary Arts, Institutional Administration, or closely related
field.
3. Experience in food
production or service in an institutional setting such as hospitals, nursing
homes, universities or correctional facilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
